Lorena is a creative professional who wears many hats: actor, voice talent, television writer and host; Italian language instructor, translator, dialect coach for actors and travel advisor for Italy.

But Lorena is also an excellent cook and a “foodie”, as well as a travel enthusiast who loves finding special places “off the beaten path” on every destination. Lorena was born and raised in Italy (Rome and Florence) where, after years of formal acting training, she began performing in theater and film. She then moved on to television, with the role of content creator, producer and host.

Lorena later settled in New York City, where she worked for a multilingual broadcasting company, creating and producing Italian language content, and hosting a radio and television show. She also continued her acting career, and used her foreign language skills, to work with other actors as a dialect coach for Italian and French.

Lorena soon transitioned to providing Italian conversation lessons to children and adults. Her method incorporates culture, lifestyle, food and entertainment components, because learning and practicing any language, should be approachable and fun.

After a 10-year affiliation with the United Nations, as a communications and media specialist, and later running the Students Office of the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago, Lorena decided it was finally time to fully focus on her passion for sharing “all things Italian”- and Italia Wander was born.
